Meet Our Director
Hello, my name is Amanda Britt, and I am the Center Director at Guidance Preparatory Academy of Roanoke. I bring eight years of experience in early childhood education and a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. I believe strong partnerships are the foundation for a child’s success, and I value building meaningful relationships with families, supporting teachers, and creating a welcoming community where everyone feels connected. As a mother, I understand the importance of trust, communication, and providing quality care for every child.
My favorite part of working with children is being part of their growth and development during some of the most important years of their lives. I love watching children gain new skills, build confidence, and reach important milestones. At the center, I am excited to create a strong sense of community where families feel welcomed and involved, and where teachers feel valued and empowered. I believe that by working together, we can create meaningful learning experiences that inspire children and support a lifelong love of learning.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am also a proud pet owner of my Chiweenie, Chiwallie, and will soon welcome a golden retriever named Millie into the family. I love Eric Carle books, especially Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, and I have always enjoyed writing and English classes. Something many people are surprised to learn about me is that I am a mom of eight children, which has given me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of strong relationships, communication, and quality care.
